A New Orleans icon determined to preserve a longstanding cultural tradition finds his efforts to stage a late life comeback thwarted by bitter family rivalries in director Lisa Katzman's portrait of former Mardi Gras Indian Chief Tootie Montana. A man well know for his spectacular homemade carnival costumes, Montana is troubled to see New Orleans struggle in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Now, despite his most noble efforts to keep the spirit of Mardis Gras alive, Montana will find resistance to his plan coming from the last place he ever would have expected.
