Synopsis by Janiss Garza

The biggest draw for this feature was its Italian backgrounds, all of them shot on location and not on a studio backlot. This type of international location shooting was not common in the 1920s. Jean, a retired captain (Horace Tesseron), lives with his daughter, Helene (Lucy Fox), in the small Italian fishing village of Amara. His skipper, Captain Andre(Dell Cawley), convinces the townsfolk that he is collecting money to buy ships for their growing business with the mainland. After getting his hands on the villagers' savings he escapes to the caverns of Mt. Etna. Sandro (Holmes Herbert) goes after him and they have a fierce battle near Mt. Etna's crater. Based on a Victor Hugonovel.
