Synopsis by Brian J. Dillard

As Angel (David Boreanaz) struggles with the ethical dilemmas of running a demonic law firm, Illyria (Amy Acker) finds her powers beginning to spiral out of control. Jumping through time erratically and traveling against her will to alternate realities, she wreaks havoc within Wolfram & Hart headquarters. Wesley (Alexis Denisof) and the others theorize that the immense powers of her original pure-blooded demon form cannot be contained within the shell of Fred's body; they fear they may have to destroy her to keep her from going supernova and taking most of Los Angeles with her. Unfortunately, the blue-skinned superbeing overhears their conversation during one of her time-skips and promptly slays Angel, Wes, Lorne (Andy Hallett) and Spike (James Marsters). Only the temporal instability of Illyria's actions offers any hope for an alternate timeline to be established and the fang gang to survive. Elsewhere, the imprisoned Gunn (J. August Richards) receives assistance from an unlikely source. Originally broadcast April 28, 2004, on the WB network, "Time Bomb" marked season five, episode 19 of the supernatural soap opera. Jaime Bergman, wife of series star David Boreanaz, guest-stars in this episode as the pregnant woman whose baby is being "adopted" by a clan of Wolfram & Hart's demon clients.
