Synopsis by Sandra Brennan
This youth-oriented sci-fi adventure follows a modern teenage girl on a fantastic journey back in time to the year 1881. Fourteen-year-old Susan Shawson's adventure begins when she enters the elevator of her Philadelphia apartment home. She has no idea that an inventor has been tinkering with the lift and she is very surprised to step out and find herself over 100 years in the past. While back in time, Susan befriends Victoria Walker, a girl her own age, and starts helping her with her family problems. Eventually Susan learns to use the elevator/time machine and enlists the aid of Robert, heading back in time to change both the past and the future.
