Synopsis by Brian J. Dillard

In this episode of This Life, Hooperman (Geoffrey Bateman) inadvertently alerts Anna (Daniela Nardini) to the fact that Miles (Jack Davenport) didn't vote in favor of her tenancy. Feeling utterly betrayed, Anna goes out to dinner with Sarah Newly in hopes of poaching a high-profile rape case from Miles. Sarah becomes upset when Anna confesses that she feels nothing romantically for her. Miles, meanwhile, recommends that Anna be given the case, but Graham (Cyril Nri) chafes at the idea. Meanwhile, Milly (Amita Dhiri) continues to brood about her hatred of Rachel (Natasha Little) and her attraction to O'Donnell (David Mallinson). Egg (Andrew Lincoln) and Nicki (Juliet Cowan) throw a Tex-Mex night at the café; Kira (Luisa Bradshaw-White) helps out in the kitchen, though she and Jo (Steve John Shepherd) get up to some sexual hijinks in the alley behind the cafe, provoking guffaws. Miles, feeling very grown up about his new relationship with an older woman named Francesca, brushes up on art history and architecture and patronizes the others about their supposed immaturity; soon, though, he's boring Rachel to tears at the Tex-Mix dinner and getting totally wasted in a drink-off with Ferdy (Ramon Tikaram), who's in a festive mood thanks to his recent tryst with Lenny. Back at home, Anna engages in a bit of girl talk with Milly. The next day at work, most everyone is wretchedly hung over, but Anna learns that Sarah has requested Anna for the rape case. Series two, Episode 13 of the cult-favorite British soap This Life: Wish You Were Queer first aired on BBC 2 on June 12, 1997.
