Synopsis by Brian J. Dillard

In this episode of This Life, Anna's tenancy vote is fast approaching. When Miles (Jack Davenport) finds out from Graham (Cyril Nri) that Anna's patron, Sarah Newly, is a lesbian, he starts gossiping that Anna (Daniela Nardini) must be sleeping with her, leading to an angry confrontation between Anna and Graham. Graham takes the time, however, to observe Anna in court, where her wild gambits get her client off but leave Graham with some concerns. Hooperman (Geoffrey Bateman), meanwhile, worries about the friction between Anna and Miles and pulls Miles aside to talk about it. Elsewhere, Egg learns from his dad (Paul Copley) that his parents are giving their marriage another go. Kira (Luisa Bradshaw-White) finds out about Kelly (Sacha Craise) hitting on Jo (Steve John Shepherd) and goes ballistic; later, she finally ushers Jo into her boudoir. Kira also forces Ferdy (Ramon Tikaram) to go out clubbing with Warren's campy friend, Paul (Paul Copley) -- an experience that leaves Ferdy a little uncomfortable. At work, Miles struggles with a difficult case in which his vague liberal tendencies blind him to the facts; he also makes a fool of himself by hitting on Caroline (Helene Kvale), a woman who turns out to be his father's new, much younger fiancée. Egg (Andrew Lincoln) and Milly (Amita Dhiri) experience tension at home due to their separate devotion to their jobs; Milly is especially on edge because Rachel and O'Donnell are in Paris together on business. When the fateful day of Anna's vote arrives, Graham abstains but Miles betrays her; Anna gets the job anyway. She thanks Miles ecstatically, under the impression that he voted for her in a misunderstanding that's exactly the opposite of the one that occurred in the first episode of the series, This Life: Coming Together. Series two, Episode 11 of the cult-favorite British soap This Life: She's Gotta Get It first aired on BBC 2 on May 29, 1997.
