In this episode of This Life, the house deals with Warren's impending departure. After being denied a U.S. visa, Warren (Jason Hughes) settles for an extended holiday in Australia. Miles (Jack Davenport), Anna (Daniela Nardini), Milly (Amita Dhiri), and Egg (Andrew Lincoln) debate about who should take Warren's room -- Rachel (Natasha Little) or Ferdy (Ramon Tikaram). Miles, who dislikes Ferdy and wants to get down Rachel's pants, leads one side of the argument; Milly, who can't stand Rachel, leads the other. Meanwhile, at work, Egg finds out that Nicki (Juliet Cowan) is a single mom and professes admiration for her sense of responsibility. Milly complains about her own responsibilities, but she takes on the job of finding a suitable going-away present for Warren just to spite Rachel, who had volunteered to help. Milly also advises O'Donnell (David Mallinson) to make some sort of farewell gesture to Warren, whom he fired in the episode This Life: Small Town Boyo. Although she doesn't know it, Milly also elicits gossipy laughter from Rachel, Kira (Luisa Bradshaw-White), and Kelly (Sacha Craise) with her prissy taste in feminine accessories. Kira puts on something frilly herself for a lunch date with Jo (Steve John Shepherd), while Ferdy is unaware that Miles has tricked Jo into thinking that Ferdy is a romantic rival. Jo, unaware that Ferdy sort of fancies him, accepts a ride on Ferdy's motorcycle that raises a few eyebrows. Warren's mixed feelings about his therapist (Gillian McCutcheon) and his brother, Dale (Mark Lewis Jones), lead to a few uncomfortable goodbyes. But a huge house party in the tradition of This Life: Let's Get It On sends him on his merry way. Series two, episode seven of the cult-favorite British soap This Life: He's Leaving Home first aired on BBC 2 on April 28, 1997.
