The British "mockumentary" series This Is David Harper was a carbon copy of the 1988 comedy weekly This Is David Lander. Both series revolved around a gonzo investigative reporter who invariably acted before he thought things out -- and as a result was forever being beaten up or chased down by his flustered interview subjects. Tony Slattery starred as David Harper, replacing the previous series' David Lander (Stephen Fry). This Is David Harper was seen over Britain's Channel 4 from November 2 to December 7, 1990.
