Synopsis by Hal Erickson

While Enid Bennett may not have been the most charismatic of leading ladies, she managed to land some plum roles in her two-decade career. In They're Off, Bennett plays the daughter of a wealthy Wall Street wizard. While paying a visit to Kentucky, our heroine spots a tobacco plantation that captures her fancy, and she demands that daddy buy it for her. As a result, Bennett comes into possession of a stable of race horses, and it is this which brings her in close contact with the poor-but-proud hero of the piece. The film ends on a clichéd note, as Bennett, disguised as a male jockey, rides her prize horse to victory and thereby saves practically everyone from financial ruin.
