Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This comedy was Charley Chase's Christmas release for 1926. His brother, James Parrott, is the director. As a Christmas gift, Chase buys his wife (Eugenia Gilbert) a watch. Unfortunately he has used the rent money to make his purchase, and the landlord (Noah Young) takes the watch away from him and hands him a receipt for the rent. Christmas is looking pretty glum since Chase now has nothing to give his wife, and no money to buy anything. But his luck changes on Christmas day -- the jeweler comes around and hands Chase a shiny new watch. He explains that he sold him a cheap watch the first time around because he looked like a suspicious character. So with a good watch -- and the rent paid with a cheap one -- Chase and his wife have a merry Christmas after all. Freckled Mickey Bennett makes an appearance as the landlord's obnoxious son.
