Synopsis by Ryan Shriver

Producer Pierre-Alain Meier made his directorial debut with the sexual-identity drama Thelma. One fateful night, Swiss cab driver Vincent (Laurent Schilling) makes the acquaintance of Thelma (Pascale Ourbih). Thelma immediately feels a certain regard for Vincent and proceeds to relate to the cabby the story of her recent break-up with her ex-boyfriend Pierre (François Germond). As Thelma feels she was greatly wronged by Pierre and, furthermore, duped by a multitude of his promises, she recruits Vincent to assist her in her plan to get even. Vincent, likewise smitten with Thelma, agrees and the pair proceed to Pierre's residence and steal his car. Soon, the mismatched duo find themselves on a road trip that neither will easily forget, as Thelma is much more than she appears to be. Thelma made the rounds at a number of festivals in 2002, including the Outfest Film Festival in Los Angeles and the Philadelphia Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.
