Synopsis

Tracing the history of the Gullah/Geechee African-American community, which has lived in relative isolation in coastal Georgia, Florida, and North and South Carolina for some 200 years. The documentary focuses on Sapelo Island, Ga. Included are interviews with artist Jonathan Green and author-activist Marquetta L. Goodwine (Queen Quet).
