Synopsis by Elizabeth Smith
This 13-part series examines the most important developmental changes children experience between birth and the age of five, so that caregivers can better meet their changing needs. This volume advises families about ways to meet their children's developmental needs, even when the family unit itself is in crisis. Additional time is spent suggesting new ways to handle routine problems that arise when caring for small children. Host Dr. Joanne Hendrick, author of The Whole Child, is a professor emerita of Early Childhood at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK. A panel of highly distinguished childhood education and child development experts contributed to the design and content of this program. The series was filmed in a variety of preschools, Head Start classrooms, and private homes being operated for childcare and schooling purposes.
