Via a meticulously-selected combination of outer space footage, state-of-the-art CG graphics and informed scientific discussion, the History Channel documentary series The Universe investigates various aspects of the cosmos, with each episode devoted to one particular subtopic. The episode entitled Beyond the Big Bang discusses the widely-proposed theory that the entire universe commenced with a massive, sweeping explosion, billions of years before mankind came to be - and continues to expand on a second-by-second basis. It discusses how scientists arrived at this conclusion, and how deducted knowledge regarding this topic has helped these theorists reconstruct the various components of the said event.
