The title character in this weekly cable-TV series was globetrotting connoisseur Kevin Brauch. In his search for the world's greatest beer, wine, and spirits, Brauch paid visits to such locales as California's Sonoma Valley, the Champagne region of France, the Scottish highlands, and the finest Belgian beer halls. While the average viewer didn't learn a lot about the history or culture of, say, Mexico's "tequila capital," Greece's "ouzo region," or the home of Newfoundland vodka, it was fun to watch Brauch obviously enjoying himself as he freely indulged in the local potables. The Thirsty Traveller made its TV Food Channel debut on July 2, 2002.
