Synopsis by Mark Deming

Armed with outrageous costumes, pile-driver tunes, striking group vocals, and attitude to spare, Sweet were one of Great Britain's most popular groups in the 1970s, moving from sly bubblegum pop numbers such as "Poppa Joe" and "Co-Co" to such swaggering glam rock anthems as "Ballroom Blitz," "Fox on the Run," "Hell Raiser," and "Teenage Rampage." The Sweet: Glitz, Blitz & Hits -- The Very Best of Sweet is a documentary which looks back at the band's long and storied career, while offering up rare promotional clips and television performances of some of their biggest hits. The film includes exclusive interviews with Sweet guitarist Andy Scott, record producer Phil Wainman, and songwriter and producer Nicky Chinn.
