Synopsis by Hal Erickson

First broadcast in 1995, the British The Sunday Show originated as an anything-goes comedy sketch series, lampooning everything and everyone in sight. Gradually, however, the comic thrust of the program was manifested in the antics of Paul Kaye, who, as the obstreperous Dennis Pennis, devoted his time to ambushing genuine celebrities at various movie premieres, asking stupid and insulting questions. As a result, Kaye was spun off into two series of his own, Anyone for Pennis and Very Important Pennis. As for The Sunday Show, that weekly, 45-minute BBC2 institution hung on until 1998.
