Synopsis by Mark Deming

One of the most popular and enduring vocal groups in country music, the Statler Brothers took the style of gospel quartet harmonies and blended it with the polish of the Nashville sound, and the results earned them a string of hits stretching over three decades. The Statler Brothers: A 4th of July Celebration captures the Statlers in concert in their hometown of Staunton, VA, playing to a crowd of 10,000 fans as they help celebrate the nation's birthday. Selections include "Flowers on the Wall," "I'll Go to My Grave Loving You," "Susan When She Tried," "Do You Remember These," "God Bless America," and many more.
