Surprisingly little information is available on the British TV series The Standard, which has been variously described as a cop show or a newspaper drama. It is known that the series debuted over BBC Scotland on April 4, 1978, and that Patrick Malahide played the leading role of Colin Anderson. Also, it is known that 13 50-minute episodes were filmed in all, most of these directed by the ubiquitous Paddy Russell.
