Synopsis by Mark Deming
In this offbeat experimental feature filmed in the United States and Greece, Petra Going (Lizzie Martinez) is an agent with a shadowy intelligence agency, the Global Nomad Project. Petra travels the four corners of the globe recording her remarkable adventures and taking her rocking chair with her every place she goes; animation, manipulated video, title cards, and abstract audio collages are used to convey her strange stories. The Slow Business of Going was directed by Athina Rachel Tsangari, one of the founders of the Cinematexas Film Festival.
