Martinon (Mario Casas) lives in solitude as the final inhabitant of a pueblo in the Pyrenees Mountains between Spain and France. He decides to disrupt his lone wolf way of life by buying local girl Pascuala (Ruth Diaz) to be his wife. Her presence does little to interrupt his silent, tedious patterns of eating, sleeping, hunting and preparing pelts, but the arrival of her obstinate and resentful sister, Adela (Irene Escolar), creates a tragic clash between civilization and Martinon's wild existence.
