Synopsis by Mark Deming

Proving once again that television is a bad influence on America's youth, Bart Simpson (voice of Nancy Cartwright) and his best friend Milhouse Van Houten (voice of Pamela Hayden) are inspired to go on a bender of mischief by watching an episode of South Park, and after damaging the home of Ned Flanders (voice of Harry Shearer), the boys are in deep trouble with their folks. Hoping to keep Bart out of trouble, Homer (voice of Dan Castellaneta) and Marge (voice of Julie Kavner) enroll their son in the "Pre-Teen Braves," a boy's club with a native-American slant that strives to keep youngsters occupied in positive ways. While Homer proves to be a lousy Braves leader, Marge rises to the occasion, and Bart soon becomes an unexpected do-gooder. However, Bart discovers that Milhouse and his dad Kirk (voice of Hank Azaria) have signed up with a similar club, "The Cavalry Kids," and soon the boys are locked in a bitter and destructive rivalry over who can do more for the community that climaxes in a melee at a Springfield Isotopes baseball game. "The Bart Of War" first aired on May 18, 2003.
