Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This picture, based on the novel by Rex Beach, centers around Alaska's salmon industry. In order to marry Mildred Wayland (Betty Blythe), Boyd Emerson (Curtis Cooksey) must make something of himself. His quest leads him to Alaska's salmon fisheries, where he joins forces with Big George Holt (Frederick Stanton) and Cherry Malotte (Myrtle Stedman). They're fighting for their share of the industry against the villainous Marsh (Robert McKim), whose backers include Mildred's father, Wayne Wayland (R. D. MacLean). Marsh also wants Mildred -- and her money -- so he has several reasons to crush Emerson and his partners. But Marsh's attempts to blow up their nets are unsuccessful. As a last ditch effort to win the girl he claims that Emerson is the father of a half-breed child. The child, it turns out, is actually Marsh's, but by then it's a moot point, as Emerson has given up Mildred in favor of Cherry.
