Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

Pierre Rehov, director of First Comes Saturday, Then Comes Sunday, tells the story of the one million Jews who have been expelled from their native land since 1948, the year that also marked the birth of Israel. As Arab armies prepared to invade the burgeoning refugee country, survivors of the Holocaust prepared for flight. Little could anyone on either side have predicted that the very same Palestinian Arabs who were convinced they would soon be celebrated as conquerors would also wind up in refugee camps. But why would the Palestinians receive refugee status, and not the Jews? As the Israelis went about rebuilding their lives while simply trying to put the past behind them, the fires of intolerance grew ever more intense.
