Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Ruth Hect, a nurse (Flora Parker DeHaven), belongs to a Quaker-like religious sect called the Seekers. She is sent to another town to take care of a sick minister (Charles Mailes), and she falls in love with his son, John (Edward Hearn). Meanwhile, her brother (Paul Byron) is falsely accused of a bank robbery and sent to jail. He makes an escape, and Ruth does everything she can to help him. Unfortunately, she doesn't explain her brother's presence to John and this puts a strain on their romance. The Seekers periodically choose a couple to send out to do missionary work. The minister stuffs the ballot box so that John and Ruth are chosen. Even though they are estranged they have to marry, but as they leave to do their good work, Ruth finally tells John that the man she was helping out was her brother. With this cleared up, the couple finally reconcile.
