Best known for his portrayal of Stan Butler in the British sitcom On the Buses and his brief partnership with comic Benny Hill, Reg Varney also headlined a number of variety series and specials on virtually all of the principal United Kingdom TV networks. The Reg Varney Revue aired over London Weekend Television beginning November 18, 1972. The series, which also featured Varney's longtime stage and TV sidekick Pat Coombs, consisted of six half-hour episodes, five 45-minute installments, and one full-hour telecast. The Reg Varney Revue was last seen on December 23, 1972.
