Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The over-the-air Fox Network drew from the cream of its cable news network's "talking head" talent for this weekly, 60-minute magazine series. Hosted by Fox News anchorman Shepard Smith, the series offered three to four featured stories per episode, along with interviews, debates and a weekly viewer poll. Regulars included the combustible Bill O'Reilly from the top-rated O'Reilly Factor, who handled the one-on-one debates; veteran correspondent Geraldo Rivera, who covered the war news from the Middle East; and cable anchorperson Laurie Dhue, who provided news and views from the Entertainment world. The Pulse debuted on July 11, 2002.
