Synopsis by Janiss Garza

A typical Norma Talmadge soap opera, The Probation Wife concerns a cabaret dancer (the Talmadge role) who winds up in a reformatory. A wealthy novelist (Thomas Meighan) not only helps her to escape incarceration, he also marries her to protect her. But the writer's former girlfriend (Florence Billings) returns and complicates things. The husband sneaks around with his old love, forgetting his wife, who is not oblivious to the situation. Determined, the wife uses her feminine wiles to win her husband back. Like many other Talmadge features of the day, this film was basically an excuse to display the star in the latest Hollywood finery and cash in on her adoring female audience.
