Although its specialty was Westerns, the Albuquerque film company tried its hand at melodrama here (although they couldn't resist having a train hold-up as the climax). Star Dorothea Farley also wrote the script. Dorothea Vale (Farley) has two suitors, Jack Conway and Jack Livingston. Finally she chooses Conway and, after the wedding, moves in with him and his mother. He starts off as an honest bank cashier, but then he starts neglecting his wife for other women and stealing funds from his work. He is caught and sent to prison. Dorothea hides all this from his mother by explaining that he has gone abroad on business and meanwhile doing whatever she can to keep a roof over their heads. Conway escapes from prison and joins a band of outlaws. Meanwhile, his mother has a stroke and goes blind. Dorothea takes her to the Colorado mountains for her health, but the train is held up by the very same bandits that Conway has joined. The sheriff goes in pursuit and Conway is mortally wounded when his horse falls. The train is still stopped when Conway is being carried off. The blind mother, who is sitting by the train, hears his cries of pain and calls out to him. The men take him to her and he dies in her arms. The shock gives his mother another stroke and she dies, leaving Dorothea all alone.
