Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
The past performances and personal history of a stuttering circus clown form the nexus around which this comedy bobs and bounces. Flashbacks show the clown's early acts as a street comic include impersonating an American reporter and a deaf-mute Central American dictator. His professional career continues through his music hall performances and ends up with his circus life. Set against these comedic scenes is the clown's search for his own identity, poignantly highlighted when he visits a fortune teller or has self-revelations in dreams.
