This searing crime drama unfolds in 1978 Yorkshire, England, where a mother, a father, and their three year old son are suddenly butchered sans any explanation or apparent motive. The country grows incensed by the murders, but the outpouring of anger does little to prepare the British public for the shock to come, when everyone discovers the true culprit: the family's 12-year-old son William, whom the public nicknames "The Kid Killer." The investigation and trial that ensue promise to permanently alter the face of British jurisprudence.
