The final chapter of The Phantom reveals that the masked protector of the jungle (Tom Tyler) was thrown clear of the explosion along with Devil (Ace the Wonder Dog). Believing that The Phantom has finally bit the dust, Dr. Bremmer, who needs native labor to build his airstrip, has one of his men, Andy Kriss (Sol Gorss), masquerade as the hooded avenger. At the gathering of the tribes, Kriss, as The Phantom, feigns a throat injury necessitating that Dr. Bremmer (Kenneth McDonald) speak for him but an old enemy, Chota (Stanley Price), uses this "weakened" condition to get rid of his rival once and for all. The murderous Chota is himself killed by The Phantom's friend, Rusty Fenton (Ernie Adams). Happily, the real Phantom appears to take the place of the imposter, Dr. Bremmer (Kenneth McDonald) is finally destroyed and peace is restored to the jungle.
