Synopsis by Cammila Collar
Based on the true story of Toni Jo Henry, the first and only woman in Louisiana to be executed by the state, director Tom Anton and co-screenwriter Sandi Russell's film follows the sensationalistic case in which 24-year-old Toni Jo Henry is convicted of murdering a man on Valentine's Day, 1940, a fact that, along with her tremendous beauty, makes her an instant celebrity and figure of infamy when she is condemned to death. As she accepts the spiritual guidance of a priest and attempts to make peace with her grim fate, Henry's story turns from tragic to inspirational in nature.
