Synopsis by Hal Erickson
In the year 2123 A.D., the earth's resources are all but gone, and it is necessary to radically compartmentalize and control all human activity. As a result, society has been divided into three classes: The Alphas, who are placed in suspended-animation "stasis" when not working; the Betas, who alternate with the Alphas' work-sleep shifts; and the Elite, the ruling class for whom the Alphas and Betas labor. This balance is upset by a band of "statis-jumpers," who have organized a resistance movement. As the Elite summons its forces to put down the rebellion, a curious holographic romance develops between Alpha Larissa (Kristin Lehman) and Beta Eric (Sean Patrick Flanery), who "time-share" the same statis pod. "Stasis" was originally telecast on April 14, 2000.
