Alan Thicke stars as television tabloid journalist Donald Rivers, who stumbles upon a secret government plot to create genetic clones. Unfortunately, Rivers may not live long enough to present his findings on his TV program. Highlights include excerpts from such earlier Outer Limits episodes as "Last Supper," "New Lease," "Blood Brothers," "The Voice of Reason," "Afterlife," "In Another Life," and "Dark Rain." Originally telecast July 25, 1997, "A Special Edition" was the official climax of The Outer Limits' third season, though in fact four additional episodes had been filmed; these four would, however, not be telecast until the series' fourth season in 1998.
