Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

See the five Oscar nominees for Best Animated Short at the 86th Annual Academy Awards. The collection kicks off with Daniel Sousa and Dan Golden's Feral, which tells the story of a young boy who was raised in the wilderness, and his attempts to reintegrate back into society. Walt Disney Animation Studios' hand-drawn Get a Horse pays tribute to the early shorts featuring the iconic Mickey Mouse, and Laurent Witz teams with Alexandre Espigares to tell the story of an eccentric mechanical man who is befriended by a robotic dog in Mr. Hublot. An 18th Century explorer seeking refuge on a stormy night enters a mountain shrine that's not what it appears in Shuhei Morita's Possessions, and the final short, Max Lang and Jan Lachauer's Room on the Broom, draws inspiration from Julia Donaldson's popular children's book to tell the story of a benevolent witch, and her cat's reaction at the unexpected arrival of some furry new friends.
