This video presents journalist Bill Moyers in a conversation with film director George Lucas, as they discuss the mythological underpinnings of the Star Wars movies. The films, which struck a deep chord with viewers, contain age-old myths, such as the hero's journey, the battle between good and evil, and loyalty. Clips from the popular movie series illustrate the mythic structure of the films. Lucas talks about his sources of inspiration, from Homer's Odyssey to Tolkein's Lord of the Rings trilogy.
