Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Mourning Suit was lensed independently on 16mm, then blown up to 35mm for its limited theatrical play. The film is set in the Jewish community of a large Canadian city. Normann Taviss plays a philosophical old tailor who takes mixed-up teenager Allan Moyle under his wing. Moyle has fathered a child by a non-Jewish girl, and his very proper mother is on the verge of a coronary. Wise old Taviss patches everything up in record time.
