This drama was one of Educational's tales about famous paintings. Unfortunately, none of these films was particularly "educational" -- the stories are all purely fictional. This one, however, features an interesting casting choice -- with future gossip columnist Hedda Hopper as the Mona Lisa. Mona Lisa loves Piero Luini (Crauford Kent), who has run up a load of debts. A wealthy man (Thomas Mills) helps him out, but only on the condition that he marry his daughter (Marjorie O'Neill). Luini agrees, but tells Mona that it has nothing to do with his love for her. Mona goes on to marry a much older man. She and Luini have both come to regret their choices, and they plan to run away together. Mona's cousin finds out, and she tells Luini's wife. At the appointed hour, Luini goes to meet Mona and discovers he has been tricked -- his wife, Mona, and her cousin are all there. Mona explains that her cousin has tried to save her from herself. When her husband returns, he has Leonardo da Vinci (Frank Austin) with him. The artist is intrigued by Mona's curious expression and is inspired to paint her.
