Synopsis by Hal Erickson

In this semi-satirical two-part British drama, Dorset postman Clive Peacock (James Bolam) was forced into accepting an early retirement. Resentful over this turn of events, and still devoted to his job in his own way, Clive picked up one last batch of mail and, without permission, hit the road to deliver the letters hand by hand, all across the Nation. In the process, Clive became a national hero -- and also a fugitive from justice, inasmuch as his mail-load was technically stolen. Meanwhile, Clive's wife Christine (Alison Steadman) made her own stand against the Establishment by indulging her rather bizarre tastes in interior decorating. Debuting March 29, 1997 on BBC1, The Missing Postman was doled out in one 80-minute and one 75-minute episode.
