Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The Midwife will appeal most to the domestic Greek filmgoers for whom it was designed. The title character, played by Georgia Vassiladou, persists in her trade despite increasing progress in the "mainstream" medical field. Georgia is constantly at odds with local doctor Orestis Makris, who considers the Midwife's methods as being hoplessly out of date. All ends happily when Georgia's son Dimitris Papamichael falls in love with Makris' daughter Xenie Kalogeropoulos. And guess who's on hand when the young couple has their first baby?
