Richard Masur guest stars as Bob Larson, an outspoken young consultant who has been brought in by station management to pep up the ratings of "The Six O'Clock News." Problem is, the news staff has done nothing right in the past according to Larson, and apparently will never be able to do anything right in the future. This episode is capped by a touching display of solidarity from the men and women of the newsroom -- though the viewer knows full well that they'll be on each other's nerves again by the time the next episode rolls around.
