Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The deep-set insecurities of pompous TV anchorman Ted Baxter (Ted Knight) are given quite a workout in this episode. With fear and loathing, Ted braces himself for a reunion with his father Robert -- who walked out on Ted when he was only a baby. Liam Dunn, a character actor most closely associated with the films of Mel Brooks, appears as the elder Baxter. "Father's Day" made its first network appearance on October 20, 1973.
