Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein

Jeanette Loff, of Broadway fame, came to the serial screens in this Pathé adventure released in ten chapters and directed by an expert in the field, Spencer Gordon Bennet. Loff and the leading serial queen of her day, Allene Ray, played sisters, lost in China during a rebellion. Enter James Brisbane (Walter Miller), an American bank teller who, after foiling a holdup, is assigned to bring the two girls safely back to New York. Along the way, Brisbane encounters opposition from "the Man Without a Face," aka "the Master," whose identity is finally revealed in chapter ten, entitled not too surprisingly "Unmasked." A box-office success, The Man Without a Face also featured E.H. Calvert, Sojin, Richard R. Neill, and Richard C. Travers, all familiar faces in silent chapterplays.
