In 1964, ten aspiring Malian musicians venture to Cuba on an expedition of cultural unity between the two socialist nations. Partnering with local Cuban musicians, the artists form the Las Maravillas de Mali band and cultivate the new genre of Afro-Cuban music. Thirty-six years later, French music producer Richard Minier sits down with an ex-band member to discuss the possibility of a group reunion tour. Co-directed by Richard Minier and Edouard Salier.
