Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka

Set back in the days when Australia was settled by convicts transported from the British Isles, this entertaining animated feature has live backgrounds and one live actor, Rolf Harris playing Grandpa. All the other characters are literally two-dimensional. This technique served director Yoram Gross well in his many "Dot" films and works here too. The story is about a young boy who was unjustly sent over to Sydney with a boatload of convicts. It quickly becomes apparent that although the convicts are rough around the edges they are pure-hearted. It is their guards that are the real brutes. So when the slow-witted Governor needs a little assistance, help comes from the unexpected sector.
