An elusive killer with a particularly sharp sword is decimating the ranks of the Kurosawa kai crime family, leaving a key officer with the responsibility of catching the culprit lest he become the last man standing. In Osaka, the streets run red with the blood of the Kurosawa kai. The police say that the killer uses a sword to slice his victims in half, and that the murders are no doubt the work of a true professional. Aramaki is an officer in the Kurosawa kai family. He's determined to bring the killer to justice, but the victims are piling up faster than the clues. When suspicions lead Aramaki to believe that the killer is a "sekiryu" (the red dragon), one woman attempts to let the truth be known before it's too late.
