Synopsis by Sandra Brennan
This silent drama chronicles the travails of a "love child" who is adopted by a newspaper reporter. He raises her without telling her of her scandalous heritage until she is 19. Fortunately, he softens the blow by attempting to convince his editor at the New York Herald to read her writing and hire her. Sure enough, she gets a job and is assigned to head to Mexico to look into a price-fixing scam amongst the Mexican cattle barons. Turns out the ring leader is none other than her ailing biological father who begs her forgiveness and pleads with her to stay with him. But he is too late, for the girl is happy with the man who raised her and so refuses her wealthy sire's offer and heads back to New York.
