After years of marriage that produces no children, a couple decides to separate in this romantic comedy of errors. The husband misses his wife after he moves out and conspires to spend a weekend with her. He tells her that he is hiding out from the police and begs her to take him in again. She agrees, but her new boyfriend rightly suspects that something is not right. The film takes many satirical jabs at familiar problems in East German society.
