Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter

This video is one of a three-volume series that traces the fortunes of three of Scotland's best-loved heroes. William Wallace is a revered figure in Scottish history for his unceasing resistance to the British attempts to conquer his country. The popular film Braveheart is based on this hero's life. He grew up to lead the revolt against the English, driving them out of Scotland. He was eventually captured near Glasgow in 1305 and taken to London, where he was executed for treason. The story is told with period imagery and re-enactments, with a backdrop of the rugged Scottish landscape and the atmospheric sound of the Scottish warrior's friend, the Great Highland Bagpipes.
